OUR FOCUS THIS WEEK:
Our Learning Skills Goal for this week will be to continue improving our Initiative learning skills and work habits. Please keep track of your progress using your "How is it "Goal"ing?" Graph. I will collect your completed Goal Graphs Friday March 4.
Mathematics: we are continuing our Surface Area and Volume unit. We will describe examples of how volume and capacity and surface area are used in real-life. We will find the relationship between the area of the base, the height and the volume of triangular prisms. We will find the surface area of triangular prisms.

Literacy: we will be continuing our Independent Novel Study. We will have 4 cycles (weeks) to complete the selected reading for each cycle and assignments (Reading Response, Summary and Choice of a Word Activity). Please keep track of your reading response questions in your booklet.
We will continue our Syrian Welcome Tote Bag project by creating our brochures and one page translation information sheet---- DUE THURS MARCH 3
Science: We will continue our Fluids Unit focusing on fluid mechanics and density and buoyancy.
Health: We will continue working on our Healthy Living: Keeping Yourself Safe Unit. We will make connections among potentially dangerous situations, violent behaviours, and substance abuse, and relate how these choices and behaviours affect our healthy and well-being. We will create a public service announcement that will analyze the impact of violent behaviours and the role of support services in preventing violence.
Physical Education: Day 1 & 3 we will begin our Comprehension of Fitness Concepts unit. We will apply personal skills and critical and creative thinking skills as we demonstrate an understanding of the importance of being active, including factors that motivate us to be active. We will create 20 minute fitness routines that will consist of a warm up, 3 fitness circuits and a cool down.
History: we will continue our Creating Canada History Unit. We will learn about the events and people that impacted Canada between 1850-1890.
