OUR FOCUS THIS WEEK:
Our Learning Skills Goal for this week will be improving our Organization learning skills and work habits.
Please keep track of your progress using your "How is it "Goal"ing?" Graph. I will collect your completed Goal Graphs Thursday February 11.
Mathematics: we are staring our Ratios, Perimeter and Area Unit. We will construct circles given its centre and radius. We will calculate the circumference and area of a circle. We will describe real-life situations involving two quantities that are directly proportional. We will solve problems with equal ratios using variables.

Literacy: we will continue our Literacy Circles. Remember to include 3 paragraphs for your weekly reflection drawing conclusions about ideas in your novel and explain your personal interpretation of events using evidence from the novel and your personal knowledge and experience.

Mon Feb 8th- Cycle 4 Reflection and Role Responsibility Due.
Science: we are finishing our Cells unit. We will continue to investigate functions, processes & structures of plant & animal cells. We will classify organisms (unicellular and multicellular). We will begin our Fluids Unit focusing on fluid mechanics and density and buoyancy.
Science Quiz Tues Feb 2- know the organelles of BOTH plant and animal cells and know the differences and similarities of plant and animal cells.
Health: We will be starting our Healthy Living: Keeping Yourself Safe. We will make connections among potentially dangerous situations, violent behaviours, and substance abuse, and relate how these choices and behaviours affect our healthy and well-being. We will create a public service announcement that will analyze the impact of violent behaviours and the role of support services in preventing violence.
Physical Education: Day 1 & 3 we will finish our Movement Competence and Active Living Target Games with Tactical Solutions. Practicing our collaboration and communication skills.
History: we will begin our Creating Canada History Unit. We will use the historical inquiry process to
investigate perspectives of different groups on some significant events and issues that affected Canada
and Canadians between 1850-1890.
